Episode 62 with Christina Hughes

Fat Positive Pregnancy – Christina Hughes

Show Notes & Full Transcript

Combatting weight stigma and empowering plus-size and fat folks on their parenthood journey is what Christina Hughes (she/her) does as a doula. By providing fat-positive advocacy, education, tools, and supports for the birthing journey, Christina helps clients navigate an anti-fat medical system.

Christina (she/her) is the founder and co-owner of Big Fat Pregnancy. She is a fat, queer, chronically ill mama who worked tirelessly to make sure her pregnancy experiences were as fat positive as possible and now helps other folks living in larger bodies do the same. Big Fat Pregnancy works to empower plus size individuals to embrace their bodies and meet parenthood confident in their ability to birth in the body they have now.

Mentioned in this episode, the Fat Joy podcast episode with Nicola Salmon and the book, “Transformed by Birth.”
